Semi-long Red Radicchio
The Semi-Long Radicchio comes from a plant belonging to the Compositae family, genus Cichorium and species Inthybus. The plant has leaves that overlap one another to forth the typical elongated head that takes on an intense red colour due to the winter cold.
Appearance, colour and taste
- APPEARANCE: the head is compact, serrated in the apical section with a slightly elliptical shape and the veining of the foliar limb that is very evident and open.
- COLOUR: the foliar limb is brilliant red without veining. The main veining is completely white and tight at the base.
- TASTE: slightly bitter with a crunchy texture.
