Long Red Radicchio
The Long Radicchio comes from plants belonging to the Compositae family, genus Cichorium and species Inthybus. The plant has leaves that overlap one another to forth the typical elongated head that takes on an intense red colour due to the winter cold.
Appearance, colour and taste
- APPEARANCE: voluminous head, well elongated and closed.
- COLOUR: intense red foliar limb with very accentuated main veining that is white in colour and diverges into smaller veins.
- TASTE: leaves that are slightly bitter with a medium-crunchy texture.
